For the last of evening sail in 2009 it was a beautiful evening, warm, good breeze and six race that took us well beyond sunset. Thanks to the Supers for staying out there and their dedicated work throughout the season - Great job guys - thank you!
Congratulation to Mark Halman for a fine win on the night and a solid second place in the series standings. For all his whinging Vernon finished the season with a very respectable second, well done James. Kudos to Ralph who got his first bullet. Don and Neil showed great progress from their beginnings this year with a 4th and 6th place.
Moving on; the awards evening has not be finalized, but with $2 beers not one to miss! Traditionally held at the Bayview Boat Club in China basin.
Also there is plenty of racing lined up this winter with the Richmonds Totally Dinghy regatta and the Fall Dinghy at the StFYC, October 24, with a new winter series hosted by the Richmond's YC youth sailing program to include races for both adults and the youths very Sunday afternoon (see RYC website).
Kicking off next season is the premier Mid Winters West Regatta also will be hosted by RYC March 26 2010. So stay fit and keep sailing. See you all soon - Mike Bishop |
