Thursday Night #14 at TISCJuly 5
Story
Even though it was in the midst of a holiday week we still had nine boats
turn out which was pretty darn good. We had great conditions with no fog
and decent wind. The course was a bit skewed due to a wind shift and I
managed to score an awesome port-tack start on the fleet. Unfortunately I
was severely punished on the next start when I tried it again and got
flushed to the back when fleet collectively said, "Oh no you don't!" and the
Vanguards passed through on their second lap burying me at the start. But
that's ok, I got a photo (below) of the whole fleet behind on starboard for
the one time it did work! ;-) Working out the timing between the fleets
was a bit of a challenge for the RC and there were a few more times when we
converged at inopportune moments but no major mishaps.

Special thanks to Ralph & KT & Mike contributing to the post race
hospitality. I think we maintained the fleet's honor even though it seems
that most of the Vanguard sailors didn't figure out the concept of the
Mojitos until late in the evening.
