| What a night and what a contrast from last week! We had 10 Lasers! If we keep increasing turnout by 2 boats a week, we'll have 50 on the line by September and will be well on our way to world domination! A few highlights: - The Social co-Chairs of Curtis, Linda, and Natasha did an OUTSTANDING job with kegs from Marin Brewing and veggie and beef skewers on the grille. Lots of homemade fresh cut salsa to go with the chips. Clearly they raised the bar from last week's social activities and are the ones to beat for Best Social Chair. - Outstanding RC work from Team Super. They had their A game on with 9 races between the two fleets. - Ramp traffic did a better job that last week. Remember - don't queue up for the ramp until you are ready to go. The next team in line should assist with dollies on the ramp. And please put your sail number on your dolly! It helps a lot getting out of the water! - Get ready for Super Thursday # 1 coming up on May 8th. Kegs and great post-race BBQ sponsored by Svendsen's Marine. Plan on racing and staying late. Our first time up as social chair is the week before, May 1 -- lets come up with some ideas and raise the bar! - Races were mostly single laps with warm temps, 8-14 knots of breeze all night, and a phenomenal sunset on the final long beat of the last race. It does not get much better than that. - Finally - Great job to everyone who had to do circles and actually did them. Even though we're still a pretty small and informal fleet we need to stick with the rules to keep our racing fun and fair for everyone. Think of your turns as an opportunity to get better rather than a punishment for touching a mark or accidentally fouling someone. Let's keep it up and get more boats out next week! |
