I can race my mercury for a weekend for $20 and have access to a club- bar, showers, locker room (Mar 29 1:08 PM) | | #153357 | Jim | | The launch fee is just a symptom of the bigger problem which isn't new to this season. I need to see that it's getting addressed before I'll participate. I'm planning to boycott the racing because I think this will hurt the
fleet - last year when they brought this up in the middle of the
season it scared away any new Lasers. Among those of us at the
Midwinters there seemed to be some support for boycotting the first
few nights at least until TISC realizes this is a bad idea and
reverses course.
I look forward to the Thursday Night racing with you guys all year
round so I would hate to see that go away, but I think that if we
accept this launch fee the fleet will slowly wither away from lack of
new blood. While TISC has been the best option for us up to now, it's
not our only option & I think we'll be able to find good alternatives
if we have to.
So if you agree that this launch fee is a bad idea for the fleet then
I encourage you join the boycott of the first night racing. One way
or the other I hope to be out racing with you guys again real soon. -Steve
